MAP Testing

23rd September - 10th October, 2019

Students in grades 3-12 take the standardized MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) test three times during the school year. This measures ability in Reading Comprehension, Language Use Math and Science. The information collected will help students understand their areas of learning, strength and challenges, and will inform teachers as they plan their class instruction.

The students report will indicate how students are progressing compared to their class, their grade level, and students at the grade level in North America.

School Calendar 2019-2020

School starts on the 25th of August. The Pre-K, KG1 and KG2 classes will be starting at 7am-10.30 for the first week 25th to 29th of August, The second week starting from the 1st of September will resume to normal school times 7.00am- 12.15pm for Pre-K and KG1 and 1.10pm dismissal time for KG2

For students from G1-G12, school begins on the 25th of August from 7.00-2.05pm. For details, please click here.

After School Care Program- 2019-2020

We would like to remind you of the school dismissal times:

Pre-K – K1 - 7.00am -12.15pm

KG2 - 7am – 1.10pm

Grade 1 to Grade 12 – 7:00am – 2:05pm

We kindly ask you to please pick up your children on time. We will allow a grace period for traffic and parking purposes where students can stay 15 minutes beyond pick up time in their classrooms. If you need more time than this you will need to sign your children up for our Aftercare program for our Kindergarten students. The aftercare activity room is a paid service for parents who need to use this facility for after school hours. Places are limited so we suggest you to sign up as soon as possible. The fee is 1500 for the 2019-2020 Academic year. Please fill out the form below and see our Accounts Department for payment if you require this service. The program will start after the first week, on Sunday 1st of September.

The Community Policing Department, General Administration of Civil Defense, Traffic Department, Juvenile Police Department and General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security were all present at the exhibition to introduce and explain to students the importance of each department and its role.

Parent Council Meeting

HUBS annual Parent Council Meeting will take place on 29th of January 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The meeting is to discuss new issues with the school and students, and listen to parents suggestions.

General Administration of Civil Defense Fire Drill Information Session

The information session was held for grade 4 to 7 students to introduce and explain the fire causes and extinguishers as well as the evacuation in case of fire.

Community Policing Department Lecture on Cybercrimes

The community policing department organized a lecture for HUBS students on how to avoid hacking, blackmailing and more information on how to protect the social media accounts, emails as well as the cybercrimes legal consequences.

Hayat School will be celebrating Qatar national week during 9th - 13th December. Students engage in various activities learning about Qatar heritage and culture in this week. A schedule will be sent home with the students. Parents can help during this week by sending in traditional Qatari ornaments and traditional clothes items for the week. We will send the items back with your children. Please label your child’s full name & grade.
